Dr. Roderick Van Daniel, Esquire

Dr. Roderick Van Daniel, Esquire was born and raised in Aberdeen, Mississippi. He holds an Associate Degree in Sociology from Itawamba Community College, Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Jackson State Univeristy, Master's Degree in Sports Administration from Mississippi State University, Doctorate of Philosophy in Education focusing on Title IX issues/gender equality for women from Mississippi State University and a Juris Doctorate from Birmingham School of Law. In 2020, Roderick began his legal career in Birmingham. Dr. Van Daniel is Licensed to practice law in Alabama. From 2006 Roderick has been writing and advocating for Social Justice issues to help fight against discrimination from racial to gender equality. Prior to practicing law, Dr. Van Daniel has worked in the judicial system in different capacities as a clerk for the United States District Court of Northern Mississippi and as a Court Specialist for the State of Alabama. He currently is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, Tuscaloosa County Bar Association, and Alabama Bar Association. 

Dr. Roderick Van Daniel, Esquire was a participant and graduate of the Academy of Civic Engagement for the City of Birmingham. ACE (Academy of Civic Engagement) is a City of Birmingham initiative with the central goal of getting residents directly involved and engaged with their local municipal government. ACE is a city-wide leadership initiative aimed at bringing everyday citizens together for a deeper understanding of how the City is working for them and how they can plug into a variety of opportunities. ACE wants to prepare residents to go out into their communities to act, serve, and lead.
